A new start..a new life:)

Most you you probably already know this, but big changes are coming for my lil' family this summer! We will be moving to Logan,UT!! yay! Jared got accepted to Utah State University and he will be starting classes there this fall. We went and toured the campus..it is soo nice and Logan is a Great place! We are really really excited, nervous about the unknown..yes, but excited nonetheless! I am so proud of Jared for going back to school! The awesome thing is that he only has 40 credits and he will be done with his Bachelors degree..then its off to Grad school and depending on the route he decides to take, possibly going for his PhD..but we will cross that bridge when we get there. We are going to be living in family housing on campus..for atleast the 1st year. I think it will be awesome to be there in the middle of all the college action and activities. Its always nice to meet new people, esp. others who are in the same boat as you..ya know? Its just really nice to finally have a plan and atleast know for a suretythis is where we are suppose to go. We both feel so good about this decision and we know although times will definately be tough at times, our family will be blessed for making this choice. So, since we are moving in July..July 8th to be exact:)..we have been crazy busy getting the house ready to put on the market. I ask myself daily..'Self, why did you wait 5 years to do any work on the house?' Yes, in a perfect world we would have gotten projects done around here over the last 5 years...but REALITY check!..my world is not perfect,soooooooo that ruins that! So now we are having to hussle to get everything finished. We are getting new carpet in a couple of weeks..so once that goes in Im sure things will start flowing alot better..atleast hoping they will! We are shooting to put the house up around the 1st of March...I know, that is just around the corner..AHH!! But anywho, I have taken some pics of the process..and as we do more and finish things I will take more and post them.

I know, I know it has been FOREVERRRRRRR since my last post! Over the past several months I have become obsessed with the Blog world! I can spend hours at a time browsing crafty blogs and reading about other peoples intresting lives. Alot has changed since my last blog..not only with myself, but with our little family. I feel like I have grown a ton and have learned quite a bit about myself over the past year. So I have decided to get my own blog up and going again...with the hopes that I will have obsessed fans that idolize my very exciting and inresting life..LOLLLLLLL!!! Well, one can wish, don't judge me! I guess even if noone ever reads my blog, atleast it will be good for me to write my thoughts and feeling..hopefully it will be therapuetic(if thats even how you spell it). So heres to a new year, new goals and a new life!!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to our national sales director, Tammy Crayk's home!!! It was amazing to be surrounded by successful, positive women! The whole night was focused on the importance of dreaming and dreaming BIG! So here are a few pictures I took while I was there!:)

Watch out world!!! This is going to be mine..pink ESCALADE!! Only national sales directors get this car option!..its awesome! we were taking a tour of her home and we found the garage. I couldn't help myself..I had to pose by this hott ride:)

This is only a portion of her home..couldn't get a full shot with my camera. It is beautiful! 8,000 SF with a full size workout room, theater and snack bar area...popcorn machine and soda fountain included and she has 3 seperate areas/offices for her MK stuff..that would be amazing! and just to give you an idea of how fabulous she is, she makes about $40,000 a MONTH!!!!..thats from her commissions and bonuses alone from the company, not including her sales. Boy am I dreaming big now!...You can bet your fanny I am sooo going to be there one day!!!:) I am getting so close to earning my car I can taste it and my newest goal is to debut as director by July 1st!!!..I know I can do anything I put my mind to..I will get it done! so wish me luck!!!!!:)

Jackson Hole Trip

We spent some time in Jackson Hole this past weekend. Every year Jared refs a wrestling tournament up there, so we just make a weekend of it. We had a good trip, it's always nice to get away for a couple of days.

This was the coolest thing! They were just hanging out in someone's front yard and they seriously were close enough we could have reached out our window and touched them!

I can't believe our little Sidney is 9 months today! Time has flown by soooo fast!!!! She has been crawling for awhile now and she LOVES to climb..just like her brother. She is a sassy little thing..definately lets you know when shes not happy. She is such a beautiful girl and such a joy to have in our home!! Love you sis!

It is the biggest task to get the dishwasher loaded fast enough before she does this!

As many of you know, I have always had such a soft spot for the elderly!! I decided to do some good and volunteer my services at the local nursing home by doing facials and makeovers with some of the ladies! It was sooo much fun and the ladies really enjoyed themselves. They kept asking me when I was coming back again. I think I am going to make it a tradition and try to go back every month or so. It helped me realize that no matter how old we get, every woman loves to get alittle galmmed up and feel beautiful. I love these ladies!

This is Nora. She was cracking me up. She's 90 yrs old and was sure to make it clear that she looks good for her age. She kept saying she looks 20.:)

So i had the BEST time at this Mary Kay weekend retreat in Park City at the Canyons resort! It was awesome to see all of the successful women and to meet my favorite National sales director Tammy Crayk!..she is awesome! And just to give you an idea, her commission checks are like $50,000 a MONTH! HELLO!!!..that is so going to be me one day..heck yeah!

Oh my goodness! So I know I have been soo slack about updating, but holy molie have I been busy busy! Here are some pics of my Mary Kay happenings. I have been working SO hard and I am finally starting to see my efforts pay off. I know Heavenly Father is blessing me for my hard work!

Here it is!..My Free Mary Kay car that I WILL have by April! WOOHOO!!! I had to take it for a test drive a few weeks ago to get a feel for it..and I loved it! The only difference with the car I will get is it will be a darker gray color! Don't I look fabulous beside this car?!! haha:)

The end of September my Mary Kay area had a star party for all the consultants who worked their business and sold atleast $1,800 wholesale. I was at the $2,400 level!:) So I earned the chance to attend this party. It was fun to be recognized for all of my hard work. Ok, so we finally sat down and decided where we want to stay and what room we want! Unfourtunately, the other rooms in my earlier post weren't available, but we did find a really nice room.

This is such a beautiful place! I can't wait to go! The Johnson Mill Bed and Breakfast.

This is the winner..so pretty and it has a private balcony too and a great view!

I am SOOO looking forward to some much needed R&R with my hubby!..can't wait!

The Crater!

I just had to post a picture for those of you who have never seen this! This is called the Crater and its at the Homestead Hotel Resort in Midway,UT. This is the coolest thing ever! It is a 55-foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock that nature has hollowed out and filled with 90° to 96° water. They have created a tunnel through the rock wall at ground level and built decks and a soaking area for guests of the resort. The hole at the top of the dome lets in sunlight and fresh air while the interior stays heated by the mineral water. Below the surface divers can descend 55 feet into the hour glass shaped depths. You can swim, scuba dive and snorkel in here. This looks so much fun, we will have to check this out someday soon!

Anniversary

Our 4th year anniversary is on the 9th and we are still trying to decide what to do! We know we are going to stay over night somewhere, but aren't quite sure where yet. Here are a couple of ideas..both places are beautiful!

Option #2: This suite is absolutely amazing and the bathroom is even better!

So I just don't know. We better hurry and decide so we can book a room! Which one do you like better?

The other Saturday we decided to make a day trip to the mountains with Jared's brother Kory and his girlfriend Tiff. It was so nice and peaceful, and Eli loved being by the lake and running around and getting all filthy. After playing all afternoon Jared made us a dutch oven dinner..it was sooo yummy!:) This is one of our favorite places to go in the uintas..Lily Lake. Its soo pretty there!

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about family and how important a family is. This being said, I'd like to let everyone know what a wonderful, smart, beautiful, amazing mother, full of joy sister I have. My oldest sister is simply AMAZING!!! My other sister isn't so bad herself. She doesn't hold a candle in the wind to Jennifer. May you and I together continue to sing her praises!

Jennifer is a SAHM with 3 small boys ages 4 and under. All sanity would have left a normal person after the first child turned 2. Some how, that just isn't the case.

I wish that Jennifer and her family lived closer so things would be much more interesting! Eli just loves her boy's and vice versa. Her boy's talk about Eli all the time. Just look at these faces.....do you think there could ever be a dull moment with these 3 plus Eli and Sidney? I think not!

June 27th was Eli's 2nd birthday! Wow!...where does the time go?! Although, he wasn't able to have a b-day party...he had the chicken pox...we did get him a sweet ride!..and he LOVES his new bike! Last weekend was Kids Free Fishing Day down at the ponds. They had free hot dogs and drinks and Eli won his very own fishing pole. He had so much fun, although he didn't catch anything. I think he liked to hold the fishing pole more than the actual fishing. Eli is Jared's little buddy. He loves to take Eli everywhere..ecspecially to anything that has to do with being outdoors...what a great daddy you are!..I love you!

As CRAZY as Eli can get, he is so sweet when it comes to Sidney! He loves to help out and do whatever he can and he really enjoys giving her kisses. I have even caught him several times climbing up next to her on the couch and laying his cheek on hers. It is soo precious! With all the adjusting to having another baby around( and I thought I had no time with just 1 kid..HAHA Boy, what was I thinking?!) I am glad that Eli has been so sweet with Sidney!

Sidney Elizabeth is finally here! She was born May 2nd at 12:42 am. She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and is 19 inches long! She is BEAUTIFUL! Everything went so good and I am so happy that our lil' girl is finally here with us!

Fun At The Park!

It was such a BEAUTIFUL day today! We decided to take Eli to the park before Jared had to go into work. We went to the state park..where they have elk and buffalo. Eli LOVES being outside and he is so intrigued by watching the animals! Eli had tons of fun going down the slides and throwing rocks! I feel pure JOY when I see Eli having so much fun!:)

The weather here has actually been nice all week and I had the hope that maybe we were done with the snow, but this morning when I woke up to see 3 inches of snow on the ground and more coming down made me realize how crapppy the weather is here..well atleast the winters anyways. If this snow doesn't stop I am seriously going to SCREAM!!!!! I am soooo ready for some nice warm summer weather...I mean dang, it's nearly MAY...is that too much to ask?!

After a year and 1/2 of neglecting my feet, I finally went and got a pedicure today!..YAY! The last time I got one was right before Eli was born...and boy did I need one bad! i forgot how relaxing a pedicure is!..I about fell asleep in the massage chair! I told Jared that I can pamper myself once every couple of years when I'm having a baby..haha:) (I really should pamper myself more, I just have the "think about everyone else first syndrome"...I'm sure many of you are familiar with that). And to top it off, my sweet friend Melinda went in to the salon before I got there and paid for it to suprise me!!!..Thanks Melinda..you're awesome! So I can have this baby with confidence now that i have nice, smooth pretty feet!:)

I just love KSL.com. (for you easterners, its like a craigslist). I have been looking for a bassinet for the baby, and i went on there a while ago and found one that is only like 4 months old for $25!! So needless to say I had to get it! I love bargain shopping!

I went to the doctor today and she said that I am progressing along. In fact, the babies head is pretty low....which would explain the pressure and pains I have been feeling! But my next appointment is on the 25th and she said that if nothing has happened by then she will "scrape my membranes" and hopefully that will kick start things. But if that doesn't work then she said she will induce me at 39 weeks!!! YAY! So who knows, it could be anytime now! Man, the more I think about the possibility of maybe having the baby next weekend, the more i realize how much I really need to get done before she is here!...oh well, isn't that how it always is?! So cross your fingers for me!

Well Eli has really done it this time! Last night I was down stairs, and it got wayyyyyyy too quiet upstairs, so I knew he was up to something! So I ran upstairs and sure enough, he had upzipped my makeup bag and managed to unscrew the tops of my EXPENSIVE makeup....my bronzer non the less, and he had poured it EVERYWHERE! By the time I got to him he had my makeup brush putting it all over his face! Needless to say, that was a pain to clean up!

This morning I was downstairs talking to my parents over the webcam, and Jared was upstairs with Eli, or should I say what I thought watching Eli....it's never safe to assume! Well as I was getting ready to end the call with my parents, here comes lil' Eli down the stairs with a postage stamp slapped on his head, and as he came closer I noticed he had slapped stamps all over his pants as well. He must have wanted me to mail him to North Carolina to see Mimi and pawpaw. I couldn't help but laugh!:) That boy is always getting into something. The other day I fell asleep on the couch and when I woke up, he was sweeping up the huge mess of flour he had poured all over the kitchen floor.(I should have taken a picture!) But, oh well, all I can do is treasure these moments bc I know one day I will miss these days...as hard as that is to remember on some occassions.

Terrible Twos?!

Last night was long to say the least! Eli refused to go to bed, he cried and screamed and screamed some more. So I finally gave in and brought him downstairs to lay down on the couch. Well, that didn't help much, he cried and threw his little hissy fit until finally Jared asked him if he wanted a snack...that always works..haha. So finally around 11:30 he fell asleep. My goodness, I have heard sooo many people say that their kids were worse at 3 than they were at 2...if thats the case I better prepare myself, bc lil' Eli definately has some terrible 2 moments!

Hey there! To be honest, I never thought I would start up a blog, but with friends and family so far away, it started to sound like a pretty good idea. Hmmm..where to start! Well, I'm Laurie and I am married to a wonderful guy, Jared and we have a VERY busy 22 month old, Eli, who is the joy of our lives. I am pregnant and only have about 30 more days till we will be blessed with a lil' baby girl..Sidney!!!..i am so excited! But hopefully she will be here sooner than later, this last month of pregnancy really blows! Jared works as a detention officer at the jail here in Evanston,Wy and I work a couple days a week at an eye doctors office, which I have really enjoyed, but once the babe is here I won't be working anymore.(Daycare is just way too expensive and not worth it in my opinion..no offense you daycarers) But i have been taking classes to become a medical transcriptionist..and once i am done with that..hopefully this fall....I will be able to work from home, so I am looking forward to that. I love to laugh and listen to music and love love love to DANCE!!...it has been wayyyyy too long since I have though!..i think if I tried to dance now I wouldn't have an ounce of rhythm in me. I love my family and church. I am in the Young Women's and love working with the girls. but anyways, thats just a little about me.
